Electro zinc plating: barrel and rack

Electroplated zinc for corrosion resistance on production volumes, covering small fasteners through to large stampings. Brought in-house in 2019 in response to customer demand.

Electro zinc plating deposits a sacrificial zinc layer onto steel in an electrolytic bath. The zinc corrodes in preference to the substrate, so the base metal underneath stays sound. MFI runs barrel plating for bulk hardware and rack plating for parts that have to be held individually.

What you get

  • Barrel plating for high volume fasteners and small hardware
  • Rack plating for larger parts and parts that cannot be tumbled
  • A part size range covering small fasteners up to 24 in wide by 36 in long stampings
  • Consistent coverage under an ISO 9001 quality system
